New Life has always had a rich tradition of vibrant, soulful, Christ-centered music.  With the Victory Choir, Blessed Praise, the Youth Choir, and the Children's Choir, we have many choirs and groups to enhance our praise and worship.  Come join us!
 

Blessed Praise

Blessed Praise was organized in 2000 by Derrick Ramey, Sr. The group is audition only and has a contemporary music style. They have performed for several churches and events in Huntsville, AL, Florence, AL, Nashville, TN, Memphis, TN, and Louisville, KY.  Blessed Praise also performs for the Hot Spot Productions musical dramas.  One of its missions is to sing for the sick and shut-in to bring a bit of cheer as they convalesce.

Youth Choir

The Youth Choir was established in the early 90's under the direction of Audrey Crider/Gloria Lane.  Even though young people grow and move on, the choir has been able to maintain a solid group over the years.  Other former directors were Michelle Ramey, Derrick Ramey, Jr., and Melody Gibson.

This ministry is open to all of our young people who has a heart that longs for God. Those who have a desire to get into position to be blessed by God, and are willing to learn and sing his praises; come and join the youth choir on Friday nights for rehersal from 6:30-7:30pm.

Our theme this year is, "Power Belongs To God".

Children's Choir

The Children's Choir has been an integral part of the New Life Music Ministry Team. The choir was established by Marietta Overstreet Wilson in 1986 as an opportunity or ministry by the children of our church.  Angela Walker took the mantle in 1996 and currently maintains this very spirited and lively group of children. 
With approximately 45 members starting at age 4 and up, the choir has accepted invitations to sing for South Central Conference Campmeetings, Oakwood University Church Children's evangelism crusades, The Children's Ministry Area Choir Festival and for Hot Spot Productions musical dramas.  As a service project each  Christmas, the Children's choir visits the Regency assisted living facility on Max Luther Drive to sing Christmas Carols and distribute gifts to the residents.

Spotlight:  Minute 2 Midnight




The members of Minute to Midnight began performing together in 1997 under the name Perfect Praise. Since that time the group has been through many changes, but its focus has remained the same: to spread the good news of a crucified and risen Savior through song.

In the year 2000 the group changed its name to Minute to Midnight, to let everyone know we are closer than ever to the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; just one figurative minute from the Midnight Cry; the moment when Jesus gathers his faithful and calls them home. In 2007 the group released their first, self-titled CD, Minute to Midnight, recording the music they have written and co-produced under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

As the second coming of Christ draws ever nearer, it is the desire of each of the groups members Nichola, Glenda, Joy and LaTonia to spread the news of the message of his love to every ear that is able to here. It is their mission to tell the world of the last words spoken by Christ as recorded in the Holy Scriptures, “Yes, I am coming soon”. Revelation 22:20
